An Explanation of 'Umdat
al-Ahkaam by 'Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi (d.600 AH)
'Umdat al-Ahkaam is one of the most famous and widely studied
books in the world. It is a compilation of ahadeeth pertaining to
ahkaaam (judicial rulings), mostly based on the two authoratative
sources of Prophetic traditions, Saheeh Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim.
Our
aim is
to provide children with a comprehensive Islamic education, which will
complement and enhance their secular education. Students are taught a
number of subjects including; Qura’n recitation, Islamic history, fiqh,
tajweed, Hifdh classes, A’alim classes etc.
Seeking knowledge is widely encouraged in Islam. The classes at the
mosque are available to Muslims wishing to learn from beginners levels
to advanced.
Al Hidayah (The Guidance) is
an established text that is embedded in various syllabuses worldwide to
teach hanafi fiqh
The course
will concentrate on the following aspects:
• Gaining Knowledge of
the fiqh masa`il with additional explanation so as to facilitate a
enhanced appreciation of the text.
• Aquiring Knowledge of the
fique along with it adillah (evidences) from the sources of the shariah –
Qur`an , Sunnah , Ijma` and Qiyas.
• Exposure to Usul al Fiqh
(Legal Methodology and reasoning) of the Hanafi School of Jurisprudence.
